Things are moving very fast concerning COVID-19 in our culture. Since I sent you my most recent email and video yesterday, President Trump has declared a national state of emergency. Los Angeles Mayor Garcetti has declared that there can be no gatherings over 10 people.

Dear CVCHURCH Family,

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic:

  • Universities closed their classes and moved online.

  • Professional and collegiate sports leagues suspended their seasons.

  • Churches over 1,000 moved to live-streaming.

  • Major theme parks closed for the first time since the 9/11 attacks.

  • Gatherings of over 250 stopped meeting.

As of Friday, March 13th, according to Glendale.gov there are no confirmed cases in Glendale, only 32 confirmed in L.A. County, and only 1 death (and that from a non-resident). Because we want you to walk in faith and not in fear, here are the steps we encourage you to follow so that we may provide you with a safe space to worship on Sunday at 9:30 and 11:30am:

For more information, visit the Glendale COVID-19 website. Here are more practical steps that city health officials recommend:

  • Stay home if you have symptoms like fever or          cough.

  • Regularly wash your hands with soap and hot water for at least 20 seconds. Have plenty of soap available.

  • Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.

  • If you cough or sneeze, cover your mouth with your sleeve or a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

  • Call your primary care physician if symptoms develop.Don't show up to your doctor or hospital without calling first.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

  • Avoid contact with people who are sick.

  • Clean surfaces that are touched often.

  • Plan for the possibility of business disruptions, school closures, and cancellations of public events.

  • Practice social distancing that limits your exposure to those who may be ill.

  • Greet each other verbally in place of handshakes and hugs.

  • Do not share utensils, cups, or linens.

  • Try to stay six feet apart from others at public events.

  • If you have chronic health issues, especially if you are elderly, seek evaluation by a medical professional.

Father God is for you! He is behind you, beside you, around you, and inside you. In Jesus' name, may He Bless you, protect you, and may you experience daily his smile and affection. May His grace and favor be yours in abundance and may He give you His peace. May God's healing deliver our planet from this pandemic quickly. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

I look forward to being with all of you, our CVCHURCH family, either in person or via the live stream this Sunday!

In His Love,

Pastor Scott
