Administration Ministries
Many wonderful people want to do what ever they can to help make CVCC the best possible place there is to go to church, but may feel a bit hesitant to get involved because of personal time constraints, concern about their “qualifications” to be “in ministry”, or are just plane worried that somehow they would end up being in a “scary” place that requires them to be in charge, leading a team, or speaking to a group.

If this describes any of the things that concern you, then you just might be a great fit for some of the jobs that are part of Administration at CVCC. Administration is the stuff that is done behind the scenes at CVCC to make sure everything runs smoothly. So if you think you’d enjoy being a support person and not a lead person, boy do we have a lot for you to choose from. Just take a look below at some of the lay (volunteer) team positions we have:

Office Assistant
How about putting in a few hours a week helping us answer the phone? All it takes is a pleasant voice and the ability to say, “Crescenta Valley Community Church. How may I help you?” You may also be good at filing, organizing, and just making sure people are being helped. What ever you can do, we can use your help. We have fun, we pray for each other, and it’s just a great place to help out!

Usher
This is a key job in helping people feel welcomed at our services. Can you smile as you hand out a bulletin, open a door, or help someone find a seat or where to take the kids during service? Well, of course you can! Ushers also help out when an offering is received and occasionally pass out materials during services. This is an important role, but when it’s done well you hardly notice they are there! You only serve once or twice a month, so why not give it a try?

Greeter
Another key person to make people feel welcome is the Greeter. If you can smile as you say, “Welcome to CVCC. Could I give you a nametag?” and have decent printing then this is another place someone special can help us out and help everyone who comes here out. Greeters do just that. They greet people as they arrive. We’d like to have a couple working together at each service and we only need you once or twice a month.

Parking Attendants
comprise the last part of the First Impressions Team. This team has not been active recently, but we anticipate reactivating it relatively soon as we continue to grow. Parking attendants greet people as they drive in and direct traffic flow both before and after services to help people and children avoid accidents and injury.

Bulletin Assembly
Every Thursday afternoon a “rowdy” bunch of people get together to put all the pages of the bulletin together. Please consider this one as another opportunity to serve. Fold and stuff. That’s all there is to it. Of course you must also be willing to chat, kid around and have a good time, too. This is a once-a-week job, but it would be nice to have enough people to rotate crews.

Maintenance Team
If you have some skills in maintenance and construction then this team is for you. We have benches, doors and walls to paint; walls to patch, bricks to lay, walls to build, roofs to patch, doors to hang, weeds to pull, plants to trim, windows to wash, and more. We know when our property is well cared for and maintained it says, “We care about our image and your safety.” Again, making people feel safe and welcome is crucial to our doing the job Jesus has given us to do, so we want our facilities to be in the best possible condition. You DON’T need to be a skilled craftsman, and we don’t expect you to work alone. So if you want to help us shine, then join this team that helps us all look good!

Communion Preparation
This is a once a month job. People are needed before each service to prepare the communion elements. That consists of breaking up crackers and filling communion cups with grape juice (and we have special tools to help you do this). It takes about 15 minutes of your time. How about it?

Parking Attendants
These people comprise the last part of the First Impressions Team. Parking attendants greet people as they drive in and direct traffic flow both before and after services to help people and children avoid accidents and injury.

CD/Tape Duplicator
This person spends approximately 15 minutes duplicating the 9 AM Sunday service teaching. He or she takes the master CD/tape from the sound board operator, affixes the proper labels to the copies of the week's teachings, and duplicates them (three at a time). They are then brought to the book cart for sale.
