Bible Based Programs of the Christian Church in Pasadena

Crescenta Valley Community Church (CVCC) is central to all these cities and is available as a resource for you.  Most churches (in Pasadena CA, the cities surrounding it or more specifically at CVCC itself) conduct various ministries. Youth ministries are geared towards helping the younger generation learn more about Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, and His teachings. The youth ministry is involved in various community programs and is a great place for teenagers to learn about maintaining a healthy relationship with their parents in accordance with the Bible and the Fifth Commandment. The Fifth Commandment reads, Honor your father and your mother: that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God has given to you. (Exodus 20:12).  This Holy Law commands that children must obey their parents and honor them under all circumstances. If there are any problems then it is only with the Holy Spirit of God that any parental-child relationship be solved. The ministry also imparts teenagers with dating guidelines that honor God.

Women play an important role in family life, which is why women ministries are an integral part of the ongoing ministry in the church of God. These ministries focus prayer, Bible study, outreaches, ministry to senior adults, fund-raising, and on social issues that affect women in their daily life.

Many churches run recovery programs to help former drug and alcohol addicts with their recovery. At CVCC, Celebrate Recovery is a 12-step recovery program that takes any person and walks them through overcoming whatever obstacles are in their life.  Whether it is alcohol, drugs, codependency, anger or pornography, this weekly group imparts spiritual education and teaches addicts of all stripes about God’s Word, helping us all gain self-esteem and bringing them to God’s heart. The good news is that the ministry can have a positive influence in bringing families back together, reducing crimes in the community, healing broken hearts and resolving long standing hurts.

Kid’s ministries are also an essential element of the Christian church. Children learn the Bible through various mediums include drama, praise and worship, puppet shows, and musicals. Most importantly, they get to know who Jesus is and grow in their relationship with Him. Besides, they too learn to serve others and develop friendships with each other through fellowship.
