Home CVCC About CVCC

Our purpose is to develop fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ through:

Intimate relationship with God
Involved relationship within community
Intentional relationship with others, connecting them with Jesus

Since God’s Word is the only completely reliable and truthful authority, we accept the Bible as our manual for living. Our first question when faced with a decision is, "What does the Bible say?" We practice daily Bible reading, Bible study, and Bible memorization. The Bible is the basis for all we believe.

The Bible teaches that every Christian is called to "full time" Christian service, regardless of his or her vocation. We practice the truth that every believer is a minister by encouraging every member to find a place of service and ministry. Every believer has direct access to God through prayer and Bible reading.

CVCC is committed to four basic principles. Each of these principles is a stepping stone to the next. The four committments of the Crescenta Valley Community Church are membership, maturity, ministry and missions. As we learn and grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ, each one of these committments becomes apparent.

We are proud of our guests and our members. In fact, we don't consider ourselves a "church" but a "community." We believe that a healthy local church is one of the best ways to learn how to live in community. Community is created when each member commits to becoming a person who is honest, truthful, open, transparent, vulnerable, sacrificial and giving. We demonstrate that we belong to Jesus by the quality of our love for each other. Love is to be the driving force of our life together.

Crescenta Valley Community Church is a Foursquare Church. The Foursquare Church -- officially called the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel - was founded in Los Angeles, California by Aimee Semple McPherson in 1923. Amidst the revival days of the early 1900’s, this fellowship of believers was born. Its desire was to preach the gospel while, avoiding the extremes of fanaticism on one hand and materialism on the other.

God has allowed the Foursquare Church to grow from the one local fellowship to over 1500 churches in the United States and Canada. The Foursquare Church has also been established in over 70 countries of the world. These numbers are fast increasing. The Foursquare Church is a member of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) and as a Pentecostal Church is affiliated with the Pentecostal Fellowship of North America (PFNA.)

We hold our slogan of "A Place to Belong...A Place to Become!" as one of our many values. We have developed our slogan with the following statements in mind:

Each person will be loved unconditionally
Each person will be accepted as he/she is
Each person will be affirmed for who he/she is
Discover your gifts and talents
