Come celebrate Easter at CVCC: 3 Easter services, Good Friday service and a showing of The Passion of the ChristEaster is coming! On April 4, your local church, CVCC will be hosting Easter events in early April all leading up to the 3 Easter services to celebrate this powerful day. For many, the reality of God and the validity of Jesus rising from the dead are significant questions. We all live in a culture where we have come to expect that anyone in a position of power is using what they have for selfish gain and in no way working to care for the common person. The same questions apply for many to God. His motives, his decisions and his very character are called into question by the seeming incongruity of what we see around us in the world against the sentence, "God is love." But what if? What does it mean if God came to earth and lived a life of perfect example, a portrait of how we are to live – and then he permitted men of His day to snuff out His life, take the air from his flesh and blood body? God Himself Died. And mere days later, of His own volition, He overcame death, showing us that he has given and will give everything to love us. If This is True… It changes our fundamental conceptions of who God is. It forces a re-alignment of my assumptions. It adjusts the way I address every person struggling through life alongside me. Friday, April 2, there are two events occurring at CVCC that beautifully pave the road to our Easter celebration. 5:30 pm – Traditional Good Friday Services held in the main auditorium by Father Rob Holman from St. Luke’s Anglican Church. And then a stunningly real look into the events of Good Friday will follow immediately after: 7:00 pm – The Passion of the Christ, feature film will be shown in the main auditorium The reality of what God underwent on that fateful day forces us to re-evaluate and consider that He will do ANYTHING to bring us to him. We hope to see you at both of these wonderful events. They will truly help prepare you for Sunday and the wonder of God’s gift to each of us! |
